Ms. Hunt had a diverse and eclectic background before arriving to the practice of law. Raised in the inner city of Los Angeles, her experiences engendered a commitment to exploring life, education, and occupations with curiosity, gratitude, and a sense of adventure. During and after obtaining two college degrees she was a chef in Lake Tahoe; a news camera operator, and a club disc jockey in Santa Barbara; a writer/director in film and theater in Los Angeles; and a college instructor at both UCLA and South Lake Tahoe Community College. After moving to Portland, Oregon, Ms. Hunt discovered her passion for the law. While working as a legal assistant for Les Swanson, a successful plaintiff's attorney, Ms. Hunt obtained her law degree. She had her own solo practice after passing the bar in 2002 and, in early 2004, Justice R. William Riggs invited Ms. Hunt to be his permanent judicial law clerk at the Oregon Supreme Court. After Justice Riggs retired in the Fall of 2006, Ms. Hunt served as Justice Martha L. Walters' law clerk upon her appointment to the Oregon Supreme Court. Ms. Hunt's three and a half years at the Court concluded in 2007 when she joined the Portland law firm of Landye Bennett Blumstein, LLP, as an appellate attorney and civil litigator. She continued that blended practice in May, 2010, when she launched her solo practice. From 2017-19, Ms. Hunt worked with the Eugene law firm of Corson & Johnson as "Of Counsel" while continuing her independent appellate and litigation support practice for her attorney clients. While at that firm, she provided full-scale litigation support in various cases, including all of the written submissions and argument in a three-week jury trial. Following a significant verdict in favor of that seriously injured client, she co-authored the responsive briefing in defendant's appeal. She returned home to the Portland area in 2019 to continue her appellate practice and to provide various plaintiff's attorneys the briefing and argument required for a bullet-proof record at trial and on appeal.
Ms. Hunt raced dragon boats on two local teams for over a decade, culminating in racing at the 2014 World Dragonboat Championships in Ravenna, Italy; she was certified as a yoga instructor in May, 2015. Her beloved rescue dogs, Sadie (2014) and Archie (2015) were joined by a third rescue, Prince Boo Radley III, to weather the storm of 2020. Ms. Hunt obtained her certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University in February 2022.
